Wedding Planning

So it’s going pretty good. Here’s my check list so far

- Picked a date for the wedding….CHECK
- Security deposit for venue…CHECK
- Met with the priest to secure date…CHECK
- Enrolled for Marriage PREP…CHECK
- Tasted food at venue…CHECK
- Wedding Dress and shoes…CHECK
- Bought Bridesmaid Dress…CHECK
- Met with Bri and Lay about invitations…CHECK
- Finalizing photographer
- Finalizing DJ
- Meet with the bakery for cake
- Finishing up the last touches for website
- Bridal Party established…CHECK…so far
- Concept for centerpieces…CHECK

We’re getting the ball rolling for our special day and I feel like things are going well. The only thing that I’m afraid of is putting the money up for it. That’s the scary part of planning and wondering where the money will come from =P I think if we plan a little at a time that part won’t be as bad. I’ve been doing a TON of research so we can get the best deals and comparing prices.

Thankfully my parents will take care of the reception…which is the hard part. Like what everyone else has suggested, start taking care of the little stuff, which I’m spending more time doing.

Thinking about programs, engagement party, invitations, wedding shower, the day of list, music for the ceremony, first song, parents dance, who’s going to make the slide show stuff like that.

It’s crazy how much things go into a wedding. I originally wanted to go to Hawaii for the wedding, but with me in the main lands and the expense of having a wedding planner and traveling back and forth was too overwhelming to think about. So I said “F” it! It’s easier to plan here. I’ve decided for a Friday evening wedding during a three-day weekend which possibly would be easier cause you have the whole weekend ahead of you.

I originally wanted to have a wedding in the Fall…I love the season and the colors, but since that’s the tail-end of wedding season it’s bit costly. I started to do my research and found that you save a lot more money on having it during the non-wedding seasons (Nov-March) you’d be surprised at the price difference on picking a different month and day during the week. I just want it to be perfect and not care about the minor things like day, weather, month...I just want it to be about us.
