Creating Wrap Around Labels "Martha" Style

I came accross Martha Stewarts "Wrap-Around" labels Photobucket

I wanted to use these for my wedding invites. I researched high and low and came accross a template on her site. I had no idea how to use her template ;) I know it's pretty simple but because it's locked and you can't add much to the template, I decided once again to create them myself. Icame across a few blogs that referenced how to make these labels and it helped on my sizing. I used 8w x 2h. I used illustrator of course and was able to fit about 5 on a sheet. Make sure you have enough space in between each label so when you cut them it'll be exact and not have to do extra trimming OR you can make your border thicker and when you cut it won't show much white. After a while of cutting them myself...I got annoyed and started to cut. I don't think people will pay attention and stare at the cutting :)

For the type of paper I used, my fiance suggested sticker paper; which you're able to find at Staples at a affordable price. It cost me about $13 for a pack of 30 and I only used about 20 sheets to make over a 100 labels. I also had them printed there which cost about $10 and did my own cutting. (Crazy to think that places charge an arm and a leg per cut and you might as well DIY)

I used clear address labels to print out my guest address in my wedding colors. It makes the invite look elegant :) You can probably use white labels too if you have them. Why spend more money if you already have the supplies on hand. (I do plan on using the extra sheets to help make my name tags.)

Here's how mine turned out:

So much fun to make and very easy to do. It pretty much costs you nothing if you take the time to do them your self. The sticker paper makes it EASIER to stick them on the envelope than using glue. I tried it with double-sided and my fiance said they looked tacky cause you can see the paper lift. So I HIGHLY recommend using sticker paper. They only come in white but if you make your design and add color to it, it'll add a little something.

Hope this was helpful for you!
