Count Down to Wedding Shower

Our wedding shower is this weekend. It’s a perfect way to start off the holiday season with family and friends. We couldn’t be any happier to get through all the wedding festivities before the big day. I was able to get my creative brain going and designed a comic book theme for the shower. My fiancé is a big fan of comics and I wanted to make our wedding shower centered on what he enjoys. Most weddings make it more about the bride and never really about the groom. So I wanted to incorporate what he’s into to our wedding, especially the shower. It makes it a bit more unique and about us.

I created some KICK ASS invites for our wedding shower that I’m excited about. At the last minute, I also produced save-the-dates using our engagement photo's in front of my fiancé’s favorite comic shop. Here’s how they turned out.

I recently subscribed to a daily blog called Tip Junkie that gives me TONS of DIY ideas and so much more. I found this one project in particular that gave me the idea of the whole wedding shower theme and for our favors. Batman Soap!! Yup that’s right!
My fiancé is a HUGE Batman fan and I wanted to make this mostly for him and something cool for our friends and family. It’s such a unique idea that I couldn’t help but get too excited over.

I came across this site Pink Torque.

I followed the steps as directed and cranked out a ton. My fiance cut out the symbols and I produced the soap. Here's how our's turned out packaged and all.

It was time consuming but fun to do. Making the soaps weren't too hard to make. It's just a matter of getting the right materials, several trips to the craft store, a good microwave and plenty of patience. I'm excited to have most of them all done. I can't wait to show them to hand them out too. Such a good idea as Christmas gifts or birthday gifts too. I bought the kit just so I can get an idea of how to make them, but the site really helped.

I'll upload photos from the shower soon. Can't wait for the weekend!
